Believe it or not, not everything in history was invented out of some pressing need. The problem Vegemite solved (eventually) was that the guy who came up with the idea wasn't selling enough things. (What gets me is that this search thereafter came up again, just worded slightly differently, as if the first search hadn't made the impression that it wasn't created to solve a problem at all.
