Yes, hello, and welcome to the Sonic Vegemite Star Site Awards Page.
The Star Site award was created to honour sites I think are, well, damn well worth a visit. And a bookmark, for that matter. If you want to see what I've won... head on over to the Trophy Room. The practice of giving awards is now kind of, well, not done anymore - not since we developed the concept of
The Moogle Cavern is where I saw my first-ever Sonic hoax. The site has been in "lockdown" for a while now as Kulock redesigns, however through all this time his message board has become one of the most flourishing communities on the Sonic scene, despite what
various nefarious groups have tried to do to it over the years. The MB is worth the StarSite award on its own.
SWS2B is probably your ultimate resource if ever you have a question needs asking about the beta release of Sonic 2. While there's tons more stuff there as well, the S2B section is what you should be ready to bookmarks, because it's unparalleled out there on the 'Net.
This site has absolutely everything Sonic related, including what must be the biggest Sonic fanfic database out there.
That's pretty much it. I mean, this site is amazing... if I tried to elaborate, I'd still be here next year.
While I'm not a huge fan of SoaH's layout, but the amount of content they have is just... incredible. Even if you need to be logged into GameSpy to see half of the stuff. In particular, (my favourite part of the site), if you require the soundtrack to any Sonic game, it is here you shall find it. If you can handle the layout, go there.
- A huge amount of info, when you put all the various cartoon sections together.
- The Sonic section's pretty good all by itself, and the Enomay documentary is something different.
- The webmaster has shown they give a damn about the page, as they've been taking action on suggestions. Good onya.
There are lots and lots and lots of fan comics on display here. We're talking real comics, as in multi-page, multi-episode deals, not your six-panel gag sprite comics. We're talking a bandwagon that's much harder to jump onto, and so a site that can collect this much info on fan-comics is truly to be lauded. They need to fix some links, but.
The layout is spookily similar to my own, which just goes to show you that great minds do indeed think alike.
Their content is all about the big blue S, and consists mainly of manuals and magazine articles. It's nice to see a Sega site with a different focus...
Just look at that layout. Just... I mean... wow. That's one hell of a layout. To say nothing of Tristan, the Sonic community's most trusted (probably) reporter. While some of the lesser reporters on his site aren't quite up to Tris's calibre, Tristan is working on restoring the site after an ill-fated merger. Catch TSSZ on radio, and I'm not just talking about online radio here!
Yes, yes, I know, we're affiliates. So? Fact remains, SU is great. They have a fan stuff collection that manages not to be completely lame as fan stuff collections can so easily become. They also have information in places where other sites don't even have places. Go there. Really. Do it now if you must.
